What makes our Freestanding Kitchens Sustainable?
The materials we use to create our freestanding kitchen furniture is sourced from a company who works hard to eliminate waste and maximise circularity at every stage of the process. We chose this company because of their internationally-recognised certification of Sustainable Development Goals and duty of environmental care.
Their unwavering commitment to sustainable growth extends beyond the limits of their factories. Like us, they consider it an obligation to respect and protect our main raw material, wood. In 2011, the company became the first manufacturer of technical wood to provide the Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for its products. The EPD is a tool for passing on clear and transparent information on the environmental impact of a certain product during all the stages in its life cycle. The greenhouse gases produced during the product’s life cycle are kept inside/are held inside of the wood and don’t impact on the environment. We are always looking for more ways to improve our practices here at our trio of furniture workshops in the South West of England. Yes we use offcuts to heat the buildings, yes we use sustainable materials, yes we are dedicated to a fair and decent living wage for the whole team, yes we use a web design company who are BCorp-certified, but we are also firm believers that we can always do more and have high aspirations for the ecological future of the company.
